Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Service in NJ
What is H&I?
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) H&I (Hospitals and Institutions) presentations are designed to carry the message of recovery to individuals who may not have access to regular NA meetings, such as persons in jails, hospitals, treatment centers and other institutions. H&I meetings are regularly scheduled (usually weekly) introductory sessions that help individuals understand the NA recovery message and the resources available through NA. H&I meetings aim to introduce attendees to the basics of the NA program and support their recovery process.
How do I get an NA H&I presentation into my facility?
Please contact our Public Relations Committee via email at pr@nanj.org or call our Helpline 732-933-0462 and follow the prompts for professionals (option 3, then option 2 or 3 depending on your location).
Getting Involved – H&I Volunteers
Many NA members find volunteering with H&I a rewarding form of service. Most H&I service commitments are managed at the Area Service level, so please contact your local Area Service H&I Committee.
NJDOC Volunteer Application – if you are interested in getting involved with H&I within the New Jersey Department of Corrections, or would like to qualify to speak at an H&I presentation within the prison system, you need to fill out the forms “Volunteer Application”, “Volunteer Rules and Responsibilities” and “Application for Volunteer ID Cards” available on this webpage: https://www.nj.gov/corrections/pages/OfficeVolunteerServices.html
