ZONAL FORUMS

I hope you accept the scanty nature of this report. I am distracted. And, now that the excitement is wearing off, what I feel most of all is exhaustion.

One question raised about Zonals was how much fund flow was deflected by zones from world.  One thing is certain. The Forums are costing money.

EDM would like to receive steering committee info from NEZF and all other zones. They have always been way ahead of the pack on this interconnectedness issue.

Latin American Forum has compiled 60 stories that serve as the basis for further collection of stories and eventually for a Spanish language book 2 basic text. Apparently Chesapeake-Potomac has been assisting the latin American Forum. If interested in joining this US Region or in finding out from them what they do and how they do it, contact Carey- the RD from the Region. Cuba is now participating. They need literature. But they must operate in secret.

Asian Pacific Zonal Forum has, for the 1st time, become a self sufficient entity able to send $1000 to NAWS.

NEW BUSINESS

#52  Seat Venezuela

#53  Seat Chile

#27 Send in Regional nominations 60 days before conference

#33 Include Regional Endorsements/Conscience on HRP nominations

#57 All nominations must come from HRP or from Seated Region (Now withdrawn)

#61 Workgroup to evaluate nomination/election procedures

This would require 2/3 majority to be put into action since it means overriding WSC policy not to create project plans on the floor of the conference.

#58 Allow World Board and Regions (and Forums?) to forward potential candidates separately from and after HRP blind screening process. Bd favors/HRP objects because they prefer the referencing to come prior to blind screening.

HRP has never received nominations from these sources, but there is nothing in guidelines that would prevent this from happening.

112 voting/56= majority/76 =2/3 (the figures kept changing, so don’t let the actual math-or its errors-confuse you

Fellowship Development/Global Outreach

An inspiring part of service in NA

Jimmy said that one day NA would be all over the world.

In Japan a person who has been clean for a year or more who relapses, is sent an invitation to come back to NA.

World Board has been to Cuba. But NA is not accepted in Cuba despite meetings with the govt.

NA invited as visiting faculty with WHO.

1,000,000. treated heroin addicts treated every year. 100% rate of relapse. Maybe 5 times as many addicts.

RP is fellowship development in these instances.

NAWS will help ‘problem solve’ anywhere=inside/outside USA.

EDM/LAZF do fellowship development.

WWW

Leadership development/ rds learned facilitation.

They do table introductions like we do hear and use id tree, and listen.

Energizing the base.
